Drive The Glen
Drive The Glen: Make a day of it at The Glen! After The Arc Grand Prix Run, you and the family can enjoy Watkins Glen International Opening Weekend activities. Drive your personal vehicle on the Grand Prix course – $25 for 3 laps behind the WGI pace car. When you purchase your Drive The Glen pass through this website, $15 of your purchase will directly benefit the official charity of this race: The Arc of Schuyler. Tickets will be available at pre-race packet pickup or on race day at Will-Call table of our race tent. Please bring your registration/merchandise confirmation.
BE PART OF THE ACTION ON THE TRACK! WE LOVE VOLUNTEERS!
We need lots of help before and on race day to make The Arc Grand Prix Run a success. We welcome individuals, families, corporate teams, adult and youth service clubs, anyone who wants to have fun and help create a great experience for our participants.
BONUS! Our volunteers get a FREE long-sleeve race shirt if signed up by March 18, 2018.
Volunteer Orientation will be held April 13, at 5:00 PM at Watkins Glen International. It’s highly suggested that you attend this meeting to best understand the race day schedule and your role and position as a volunteer. We will email you meeting reminders if you register to volunteer.
So, how can you help?
Course Marshall: There are 3-mile markers on The Track (3.4 mile). We’ll need small teams on each mile marker who can hand out water, shout out the time, pick up debris (water cups, etc.), and of course – clap loud and yell words of encouragement to our runners! Prior to the race start, volunteers will be transported by bus to their designated station and picked up as the last runners pass their station. There are 5 “stations” on The Pit Road (1 mile). Individuals or smaller teams will walk to their designated spots on the course and assist with course direction to participants.
Water Station: There is one water station on The Track and one water station on The Pit Road. Volunteers will fill water cups, hand them out to runners as they pass by, and pick up any debris. Clapping and cheering encouraged!
Parking Director: We expect a lot of cars on race morning and we need help directing people to a spot quickly. We’ll provide a safety vest and instructions on where and how to direct people to park.
Registration/Packet Pickup: Assist with race day registrations, hand out shirts, bibs, and pre-registered participant packets.
Runner’s Tent: Greet participants, provide direction, answer questions, and help with refreshments.
